The KA1 project “Agenda 2030: how can you make the difference” is a youth project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union, whose exchange, which took place in Rome from 27 November to 02 December 2022, was a great success at the level of the people involved but also at the local and European level. 6 different countries have participated: Italy, Spain, Greece, Poland, Czech Republic and Lithuania. with 48 participants.
The context of the project was unbeatable, right in the centre of the city of Rome, a setting rich in culture and society, where the participants were able to carry out a large number of non-formal education and sustainability activities in the open air, related to the world of youth. Rome offered us a multitude of possibilities for all the activities of our project, a very lively city, with lively streets, all full of people, where you can breathe a good atmosphere and cheerfulness. With its hospitable inhabitants, accustomed to living in a multicultural and open society, our participants had a great experience on a professional, cultural and, above all, personal level.
Our project had several objectives: on the one hand, the coexistence of young people from very different countries, the opportunity to carry out common activities and to get to know other cultures.
The central theme of the project was the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. The concept of sustainability can be framed according to the Agenda through three main categories: environment, economy, society. The goal is a more sustainable society that helps improve people’s quality of life and the well-being of our planet.
We decided to develop and implement it, together with the rest of the partners, because we firmly believe in the importance of the Sustainable Development Goals in building a fairer and more democratic society, both at European and global level.
This is why it was essential to raise awareness among young people on this issue in order to achieve the goals and lay the foundations for creating a better society. Furthermore, the development and dissemination of the goals of the 2030 Agenda allowed us to promote the values of the European Union, and thanks to this, the exchange generated a common sense of European belonging among young people, along with the importance of international and intercultural learning.
